Computer Science and Engineering


The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1991. The CSE department started with a modest intake of 30 students in the year 1991, and IT program was started in the year 2000 with an intake of 40. Over the years it has grown by leaps and bounds and presently offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering course with a sanctioned intake of 180 students and B.Tech in Information Technology with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for three years in the year 2004 and re-accredited by National Board of accreditation for three more years in 2007 and IT program was accredited for the first time for three years in the same year. The department also offers a P.G course in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 18.

The department is in thirst of undertaking the research and development activities in emerging thrust areas and introducing new innovative courses based on the industry demands collaborating with national and international institutes, research and development organizations and industries


The department aims to become a pioneer in the field of education and training in Computer Science and Information Technology. The Department also aims to become a software consultant by attracting live projects from software Industry.


The Department strives to impart quality education and training in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology so that the students are equipped with the necessary software, communication and leadership skills to face the challenges of the industry.




The Programme Educational Objectives of the under-graduate programme in Computer Science and Engineering at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College (Autonomous), Kurnool are to prepare graduates to possess the ability to

    I. Analyze Design, and Develop high-quality software systems using the appropriate theory, principles, tools and processes. 
    II. Solve problems in a team environment and effectively communicate with their peers, customers, supervisors, etc through both written and oral means. 
    III. Apply engineering processes and practices to software components and systems skillfully and efficiently and 
    IV. Demonstrate professionalism in their work and embrace lifelong learning.




The Program outcomes of the undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering (Autonomous) Kurnool are to make the students to attain.

    a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering, 
    b. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data,

    e. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems,
