Location

 

Kurnool is a historically, culturally and politically important town in Andhra Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of the river Tungabhadra. It is on the national highway 7 and is known as the gateway to Rayalaseema. By road it is two and half hours from the Rajiv Gandhi International Air Port, Hyderabad and five hours from HAL International Air Port, Bangalore. It is well connected by road and rail to all the major cities and towns of Andhra Pradesh. Kurnool is a popular pilgrims’ hub. Srisailam, Ahobilam, Mahanandi, Mantralayam are in Kurnool district and the famous sixth century temple of Jogulamba, one of the Astadasa Sakti Peethas is twenty five kilometers from Kurnool. Belum Caves, the second largest caves in the Indian Sub Continent and famous for their stalactite and stalagmite formations, are about 100 KM from Kurnool. Kurnool has good facilities for lodge and board including star hotels.


Kurnool is a good education center. There are about 15 engineering colleges, one medical college, one dental college, physiotherapy and nursing colleges, degree and junior colleges, and B.Ed colleges.


The college is on the Kurnool – Nandyal road and is about 10 KM both from Kurnool Town Railway station and APSRTC Bus Station. Auto rickshaws are the general mode of public transport in Kurnool.
