PES is a method of verifying the personal details of those who wish to apply for an integrity-sensitive position within a company in the financial services sector. The screening process verifies things such as identity, qualifications, work experience, character, criminal history and credit history. Personnel hired via temporary staffing and secondment agencies also have to undergo the same screening process. The process of verifying personal details is carried out with a great deal of care and in full accordance with the requirements of the relevant privacy legislation.

Why is PES necessary?

Before a person can be employed in an integrity-sensitive position within a financial institution, their personal details have to be verified. This integrity assessment is required by law and is known as PES or Pre-Employment Screening.

Pre-employment screening is primarily required for persons who (aspire to) hold integrity-sensitive positions within companies in the financial services sector. It is required for vacancies that are filled internally as well as vacancies that are open to external candidates
