About the CIE
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) came into existence in 2019, replacing the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC).
Objective:
The objective of its creation is to develop an environment that nurtures creativity at GPREC, encourages the entrepreneurial efforts of students and faculty, and helps translate their ideas into successful ventures.
The activities of CIE include motivating students toward entrepreneurial careers; organizing programs that lead to the generation of business ideas; offering mentoring by relevant experts; helping them with networking and transforming their business ideas into startups; assisting them, wherever applicable, in applying for IPR; enabling financial support through angel investors, venture capitalists, banks, and other financial institutions; organizing programs to familiarize them with the procedures for registering and running startups; and undertaking any other relevant activities that support innovation and entrepreneurship.
In pursuit of establishing an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem, CIE liaises with alumni of GPREC, government bodies, NGOs, and industries.

In general, CIE will have a Convenor and Co-Convenor appointed by the Principal, and they will hold their positions at the pleasure of the Principal. One or two faculty members from each department will serve as members (Faculty Coordinators) of CIE. Student volunteers who are genuinely interested in innovation and entrepreneurship will be selected to form Team CIE.
