Pedagogy is the discipline that deals with the theory and practice of education through interactions amongst faculty, students and innovative teaching-learning process. The 21st century pioneered new trends in the education system through the introduction of competence approach, internetization, informatization, globalization, diversification and digitalization in teaching-learning process.

The academic autonomy granted to GPREC in the year 2006 offered an opportunity to introduce innovative teaching-learning process in Engineering Education. This also increases the responsibility of performing to the expectations of all stake holders. The autonomy provided the flexibility in teaching pedagogy and in designing the curriculum. The curriculum offers various mandatory learning courses, extra academic activities, co-academic activities, employability enhancement courses, industry oriented courses, core and interdisciplinary electives along with engineering courses. These courses are framed in such a way that the students are able to meet the expectations of the industry and to work in interdisciplinary areas.

The GPREC is following Outcome-Based Education (OBE), a student-centric teaching and learning methodology in which the course delivery, assessment are planned to achieve the stated objectives and outcomes. It focuses on measuring student performance i.e. outcomes at different levels. Blended learning environment is created in the institute which promotes student-centred learning in an innovative and effective manner. In addition, by providing good control over their learning, blended learning also helps in improving critical thinking. It gives students more autonomy to choose their learning practices. Moreover, the student is made aware of their learning goals in each course and discipline. The student at GPREC finds supportive faculty where he/she can connect and feel at home and moulded into a global citizen.
