The department is one of the three departments with which the college was established in the academic year 1984-85 with intake strength of 60 per batch, now it is increased to 120 per batch . The Department is having M.Tech course with Structural Engineering as Specialization.The department is having all necessary labs with good equipment required for UG students. The department produced a large number of qualified engineers, majority of whom settled well in India and abroad. The scheme of instruction and syllabi of subjects are revised at regular intervals to incorporate the latest topics as per the needs of Civil Engineering Profession, such as Auto CAD, STAAD, Remote Sensing and GIS etc.

  • Varshitha Chowdary (209X1A0111) and Team, has won the cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 /- in National Level Smart India Hackathon – 2022 under Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship category organized at D Y Patil Engineering College, Pune in the month of August 2022
  • 3 No. of III B.Tech students attended the Summer Internship at IIT Mandi from 17-06-2023 to 31-07-2023 during the Academic Year 2022-23

  • 3 No. of IV B.Tech students attended End semester Internship at IIT Bhubaneswar from 01-01-2024 to 31-03-2024 during the Academic Year 2023-24

 2024-25

  • 4 No. of III B.Tech students (239X5A01C1, 1C6,1E0,229X1A0166) have been selected for “i2I Idea” contest with a grant of Rs.50,000/- being organized by IITM, Chennai, supported by Wipro Foundation during the month of March 2025
  • 3 No. of IV B.Tech, students (219X1A0124, 127,135) undergone End Semester Internship at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar during VIII semester of 2024-25
  • J.Naveen Kumar (239X5A01C1) of III B.Tech attended the Summer Internship at IIT Dharwad from 01-06-2025 to 15-07-2025 during the Academic Year 2024-25
  • K.Rohith Reddy (219X1A0168) of IV B.Tech has represented the JNTUA Hand Ball (Men) team in the South Zone Tournament held at Periyar University, Salem from 28-02-2025 to 04-03-2025 and secured 2nd position

  • J.Naveen Kumar (239X5A01C1) and his team (IV B.Tech students) has been participated in Startup competition conducted by Institution’s Innovation Council, JNTUA on 17-09-2025 and stood First place for demonstrating outstanding Innovation, entrepreneurial mindset and potential for impactful startup development

Hrudaya Vikas Naik (229X1A0166) of IV B.Tech have been part of one of the top 40 teams out of 800 teams across India for the Ideas to Impact Challenge 2024, showcased their proof of concept at IIT Madras during Demo Day on 25-10-2025 under the guidance of Dr. E.
