Humanities and Basic Sciences
The Department of Humanities and Basic Sciences has been a key part of the institution since it started in 1985. It serves as a foundation for students’ academic journey in Engineering and Technology. The department helps students transition smoothly from the 10+2 level to professional courses. It equips them with essential knowledge, skills, and values needed for higher learning.
The department includes qualified and experienced faculty from various fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Management. Many faculty members engage in research and regularly publish in respected journals. Some faculty members also have specialized certifications, diplomas, and advanced training in their areas, which improve the quality of teaching and research output.
The Department of Humanities and Basic Sciences has a strong team of 43 teaching faculty, along with 6 dedicated staff members. The teaching staff includes 3 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, and 36 Assistant Professors. Among them, 19 hold Ph.D. degrees and 20 are pursuing their doctoral research. The remaining faculty members are postgraduates with qualifications like M.A., M.Sc., and MBA. With their academic expertise, research involvement, and commitment to teaching, the faculty provide students with a strong foundation for both professional and personal growth.
In addition to academics, the department organizes seminars, workshops, and interdisciplinary sessions on current topics. This enriches both students and faculty. By focusing on sciences, language, management, technology, and life skills, the department plays an important role in developing competent engineers and responsible individuals.
